
Nelly Corbel, Founder & CEO of Global Civic Consulting
is an expert in civic education with 15 years of progressive experience at the international level in academia, governance, and civil society. She specializes especially in integrating and advancing civics in higher education, and in promoting citizenship, engagement, and sustainable societies. She is a co-founder of the Lazord Foundation, the founding Secretary-General of Networking Arab Civic Education, and a member of the board of advisors for the German Federal Agency for Civic Education. Nelly has a Master of Arts in Conflict Resolution and Civil Society Development from the American University in Paris as well as a certificate of completion for the Executive Program: Strategic Management for Leaders of Nonprofits from Harvard Kennedy School.

Flora Triantafyllou, Administrative Coordinator
Flora Triantafyllou comes originally from Athens, Greece. She has more than 7 years of administrative experience in office management, compliance, procurement, and HR. She started her career in private multinational corporations. Later, she joined the public sector where she worked on the recognition of foreign academic diplomas in France.
She has been a volunteer at the French Red Cross, responsible for the food distribution and member of the International Club of Women of Cotonou, where she supports projects in local schools.
She has lived and worked in 8 different countries on 3 continents, Europe, Latin America, and Africa.
She has a BSc in Business Administration from the American College of Greece and an MSc in Social Science Research Methods from Cardiff University in the United Kingdom. She currently resides in Benin, West Africa.

Sara Alshaer, Social Media Advisor
Sara is a Social Media Specialist and creative storyteller with a strong foundation in language and cross-cultural communication. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Applied English Linguistics from the University of Jordan and a Master’s in European Studies & International Relations from Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf-Germany, she bridges cultures through thoughtful and strategic communication. Her experience as a content writer, along with her communications role at UNRWA during the Lazord Fellowship, has strengthened her appreciation for the impact of intentional storytelling and purpose-driven content. Sara is passionate about transforming ideas into creative narratives that resonate, inspire and stand out, crafting communication that remains authentic and meaningful. She aims to drive meaningful change through compelling stories that connect people, spark curiosity and translate organizational visions into clear and authentic narratives.

Varnika Tomar, Social Media Support
Varnika Tomar is a marketing strategist specializing in digital marketing, social media and clear, audience-focused communication. Based in Porto, Portugal, she is completing her master’s in marketing at Católica Porto Business School, where she combines academic research with hands-on experience in content production and digital strategy.
She has worked across diverse organizations, developing a practical understanding of how to shape messages that cut through noise and communicate value with clarity. Her background in social media management and content development has strengthened her ability to structure information, simplify complex ideas and design communication that supports organizational goals. Varnika is driven by the belief that effective communication can help people understand ideas better, make informed decisions and engage with initiatives that matter. She aims to support teams and projects that prioritize clarity, community building and thoughtful, well-executed digital strategy

Hana Shahin, Research & Evaluation Specialist
is a community psychologist with a master’s degree from the American University in Cairo (AUC). She has over ten years of experience with youth development and cross-cultural understanding, and community development organizations. She is currently a Ph.D. student at Wichita State University and a freelance consultant in community psychology, organizational development, and capacity building. She has been a trainer and mentor for the Lazord Fellowship and worked on civic engagement and cultural projects with the John D. Gerhart Center for Philanthropy and Civic Engagement at AUC and the Goethe-Institut.
